Boy Soout Day Camp

Riley and Tanner learning to shoot....side note $2500 fine for the parents of any child who shoots any kind of animal at camp....(glad I was there to remind my kid :0)

The boys making up there cheer....which they yelled periodically all day long.

All the boys on check in...before we got our awsome red piarte shirts.

Riley had day camp for boy scouts this week....Its three days from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. every day. They ask for each parent to volunteer to go one day....it didn't really sound that appealing...middle of the desert, 100 degree heat, dirt, dust, sack lunch with a bunch of dirty sweaty boys learning how to shoot Beebe guns but boy how wrong I was...IT WAS A BLAST! I went Thursday, it was the first day and WOW so fun...I have a whole new respect for "professional boy scouts" and water balloons. Basically you show up and each den has there own camp...we had 10 boys and we were den 25. You camp consists of a picnic table, awning for shade and a water spicket (water balloons are what camp is all about apparently). When we first got there the boys immediately started filling up water balloons...there were other dens all around us and they were having meetings and talking to their boys....my boys were in the bushes preparing to bomb anyone and everyone. I had no idea of the edicate for this type of situation so I run over and let the other leader know what is about to happen and she starts yelling...."IMMINENT THREAT, IMMINENT THREAT" and her boys scattered and the attack began....water balloons filing everywhere. We learned how to shoot, archery, swimming, knot tying, sports, bow and arrow, arts & crafts, not to mention the chronic water balloon attacks. It was fun to see Riley interact with his friends and to see how fun camp is for all the boys. They have a trading post where the boys can buy things and they had these old school slush puppies icee machines...yummy, I think this might have been the highlight of the day for me!

No more appliance

Today was the big day....Paige got her appliance out. She sucked her thumb for her entire life until this point. It was her signature, the only child in this family who sucked her thumb. She is very unique with her own signature for everything why would this be any different. We tired numerous things before we finally took her to get the appliance. It was metal brackets bolted to her back teeth with four prongs that hung down behind her front big teeth. Every time she would try to put her thumb in her mouth it would poke and remind her not to do it. She had it in for 5 months or so and it broke, so we took it out while they fixed it and she immediately started sucking her thumb. So it has been about 8-9 months total for the appliance and today was the big day...she was asking to get it out and I think she will be fine. She has matured and grown so much this past year. I think she can handle it. Her bite has total straightened out and although it was a little uncomfortable getting it out....she is so happy now. Congrats Paiger....we are so happy you are no longer a thumb sucker even though you were so cute as a thumb sucker! As a baby she used to suck her thumb and twirl her hair...it seemed like yesterday :-)

Bond family pictures....

20 people strong.....

kaka and paige....so cute!

This is our little family....so cute!

For Christmas all the kids gave Ryan's mom a picture package to be taken after a few more babies were born and we finally did a few weeks ago....it was prom night and so the park we took the pictures at was packed with all the formal pictures and fancy dresses, it was cute. The pictures turned out great....trying to get that many kids smiling and looking at the same place at the same time.

San Tan Splash Pad

Sadie and Byrnlie.....where did the water go?

Hi

She is so cute...look at those legs

Sadie has been so crazy these last few weeks....I almost have to get her out of the house to get some energy out before her afternoon nap or we might both go crazy. Since the weather is getting so hot we have been going to the San Tan mall. They have this free splash pad, basically it is a soft pad with water that sprays out of different holes. She loves it....she runs around and gets wet. I have taken her their with her cousin Brynlie and a few times by herself and she thinks it is great. The funnest part is as the water starts to go down she gets down on her knees and tries to drink it like a drinking fountain.

Rivercats baseball 2009

RIVERCATS....
Wow - The season has gone by so fast. Riley got drafted to the Rivercat this year. They had a great team with very good coaches. Ryan helped coach and Riley begged him to play almost every day there was not a game or practice....the kids is dye hard for baseball. There team was very competitive and a lot of the kids were from our neighborhood...including Riley's best friend Tanner which made it very easy for carpooling and. Riley played great and got a lot of good experience at catcher and third base. He practiced pitching a little but never actually pitched in a game. One of my favorite memories from this season was in our last game of regular season. Riley was playing third base a kid tried to steal and came sliding in from second the catcher threw to Riley and from the bleachers it looked like Riley tagged him out....the ump called it an out and that ended the inning. When he came into the dug out I heard him discussing something with Ryan and then he came out to talk to me....I could see the sadness in his poor little face. Real quite he says "I never really tagged the kid...I feel so bad for him. I wanted to tell the ump but dad said calls go both ways and some times they call us out when we were safe, that's baseball give and take." The poor kid felt horrible about it. I love how sensitive he is and how his life revolves around HONESTY and following rules. There team ended up making it to the semi finals and lost last night to an undefeated team. We were up 3 to 2 going into the last inning and they had some good hits which resulted in a close call at home for a 4 to 3 loss. Riley you are such a good boy...we love you very much and are very pound of the amazing season you have had.

Finally....

For the last couple of weeks Hayley has had this front tooth just hanging on by a thread....it looks like Nanny McFee, hysterical. We have been teasing her and trying to get her to pull it out but she won't give in...so this morning Ryan pinned her down on the bed and said "let me see this tooth".....he pushed it hard one way and "POP", the fell right out. I was so surprised, I thought she was going to be crying but she just started laughing was excited to leave it for the tooth fairy. Now she can get another big girl tooth to match the other front tooth :-)....YAY matching front teeth.

Fishing with Grandpa

Fishing....
Early this morning Ryan and his brothers took their grandpa fishing. Grandpa Devenberg loves to fish and watch baseball. Its not very often that we take the time out of busy schedules to spend quality time with our family and this was a great opportunity for the boys to spend time with him. They went out to Suargo and had a great time. They even caught a few fish...afterward grandpa Devenberg came to watch Riley play a little baseball and he had a huge smile on his face the entire time....it was great.

I think that is a baby fish...

Crazy Sadie Day...

Wow, I can't decide if my baby is ridiculously crazy or if I am just so old I can't remember what is is like to have a 15 month old.....today while I was putting away laundry I couldn't find Sadie so I called her name a few times to find her completely trashing my office literally. Jumped out a cup of water, all the paper from the printer on the floor, pencils, pens, calendar and other misc paper thrown every where with water on top of it all. I grabbed a towel to clean up and set her on the floor out of harms way...as I cleaned up this mess she grabbed my 44 oz Dr. Pepper (those who know me, my LIFE) and jumped it on top of her as well as the floor. We both then got in the shower after I cleaned up that mess. As I blew dry my hair I gave her some lotion bottles to play with to look down and find 1/2 bottle of baby powder dumped out.....this all took place in the space of 30-40 minutes.....AHHHH. After this I took her to San Tan to play in the water and get some of this craziness out of her system where there is nothing she could distroy.
Ryan always says she is a part time baby because she loves to sleep. Her day consists of 7 pm to 7 a.m. sleep, 8:30-11 nap, 1-3 or 4 nap. She may like to nap but she sure makes the most of her time awake!

Weekend away

I know a little close but we took it ourselves and we never get pictures together.
On the way home, tired and sunburn but she had so much fun.

Snacks anyone?
She is such a trooper! Who doesn't love the double tube?

My wonderful husband took me to the Arizona Grand Resort for a night away last night...It was so FUN! It has been a while since we have been away from our kids for a night and I loved it. We relaxed, hung out in the jacuzzi, slept in, had breakfast and then I laid out at the pool for a while and Ryan picked up the kids and got them lunch and then brought them up to the pool to hang out for the afternoon. The weather was amazing it was hot enough to want to go swiming but a bit overcast with a breeze every now and again, PERFECT! It was great to have a break and then get to spend the day with the kids....Thanks babe, You are the BEST!
Special thanks to grandma Patsy and tata Nufi for keeping the kids overnight...four kids can be a handful and we really appreciate it all you do for us!

Sadie-14 months old

Yummy..

Thank you...you are such a big helper.
Sadie is a little over 14 months old these days and crazy....She is so busy, you turn your back for a second and she is gone and getting into some kind of trouble....as I folded laundry she was wondering around in the kitchen and I heard something, I stood up to find the Coco Crispies dumped out....I just had to laugh so was so cute. I went to grab her to clean it up and she grabbed two hand fulls of cereal and was trying to shove it in her mouth....I promise I feed here.
At this age she is still such a great sleeper, 7 to 7 plus two 2-3 hours naps every day...Its amazing, she must have got that from Ryan!
I had to add this picture, a few days ago after a shower I turned my back literally for a minute and this is where I found my naked baby...here favorite place these days...on top of my desk. I think I should start training her to type :-)

Tumbling 2009

This year the girls have been taking tumbling once a week for an amazing teacher. She is a bit far from our house but totally worth it. The girls love it and I love that she does not let the girls slack...she makes them work hard and progress. They had there end of the year show and they did great. Both girls have mastered there back bed and pull up from back bend, it was so fun to watch and to watch the older girls who have been at Mrs. Debbie's for a while. Our cousins Kaelie and Mackenzie both took tumbling too and did amazing! We bought the girls roses after the show, Paige was so happy to get the flower she must have said thanks about 5 times. I love how the little things mean so much to them. Congratulations girls you did amazing and I love your leotards....and your cute little buns :-).
