The Dunes

Dirty Baby

f

We took a little family vacation camping at the Dunes over the winter break....its been a few years since I have braved the dunes and it was a lot of fun. We borrowed Papa Bob's toy hauler and a Razor and we were off on another adventure! The accommodations were a little tight for 7 of us but it worked out. We ate yummy food all weekend, took lots of rides, watched people race at the hill and the kids drove the golf carts all over the place. We did fire works, played games, and even lit these really good floating lanterns. The kids had a great time with the Stevens, Davis's, B. Bond and family, and D. Bond and family

Beach Camping

Happy boy in the exersauser

All our peeps....what a clan!

Holland and Sadie

The last few years we have gone beach camping in Carlsbad, California....I know sounds completely miserable, but it really not that bad and the kids absolutely love it. I bunch of families (12-15) pack up all their camping gear and/or trailers and caravan of to Cali. Its so much work getting there, all the packing, organizing, planning meals, buying and packing food, et cetera, but once you get there its awesome....the kids have a blast because there are so many other kids there to hang out with and you can just chill in your beach chair, eat treats all day, and relax! Paddle ball games were off the hook, a few wiffle ball games and lots chillin. The kids loved to scooter down to the camp store and buy candy. I loved the fact that everyone loves the beach and they can all just go play, boogie board, play games. The camp site has token showers...so all the kids had their own shower bags and they would go down and get cleaned up after the beach before dinner with all their own mini shampoo and conditioners....kind of fun that they are old enough to be so independence and way easier on me :-) Until next year...

This year we were fortunate enough to get the entire Bond family to Mission Beach....8 adults and 13 kids a little bit out numbers but so fun. We looked like a circus every time we went anywhere. We hauled all of our bikes over so we good go cruising but 21 people on bikes looks more like a tourist attraction then a family on a leisurely bike ride. Grandma Kriss took a few kids to an Aquarium the first day we were there....Hayley absolutely loved it! We hung out at the beach and did some boggy boarding and sand castle making, I even beat Ryan in a little paddle ball. The wave house was rocking most days, but on the last day we all went down and the kids skim boarded and boogie boarded the small wave and the dads did the big barrel wave. Thursday was wrist band day Belmont Park pretty sure a few of the kids wore out that old wooden roller coaster. We hit the famous Sweet Shop more times than I will admit. All 21 of us ventured out to Sea World, which was so fun. Its been years since we have been probably before we had kids. The kids had a great time...there were some really good shows and a good mix of stuff for the big kids as well as the babies. All in all this family vacation was a success....we all had a great time and made some fun memories.

The Bonds invaded the Wright's cabin again this year for a 5 days of sledding, snowboarding and eating! Since I am pregnant with baby #5 Steph, Dana and I stayed home with babies and played in the snow at the cabin and the dads and the big kids snowboarded 2 of the days and we the days we build a make-shift sled hill/snowboard jump at the cabin the other days. It was super fun and relaxing, just what we all needed. We ate yummy food all day every day, and played scum and I beat a couple kids in boogle...yes I love to play boggle
