Paige's Birthday Suprise

Nix might have enjoyed Paige's cake more than anyone!

Even the little kids loved just dance

Just a few of Paige's peps

a
Paige had pretty much the most amazing birthday ever....at least I think so!! I picked her up early from school, we grabbed lunch, hit the mall for a few hours where she snagged a bunch of clothes and accessories. On our way home she got her hair cut. She arrived home to SURPRISE PARTY....yea baby, I had decorated the house with balloons and streamers and invited all her peps over to surprise her. It was so much fun. When we walked up to the door and all the kids yelled surprise, so got so scared she started running away, it was pretty funny! We played just dance on the WII, everyone brought take out of their own choice and what did we eat for dessert....another ice cream cake of course! Thanks again DQ!

No Penguin Dives!!!

s

Night swimming over at Brandon and Steph's house and the kids were doing dives and trick, Paige decided to do a Penguin Dive and if I might add I think she was the most committed to her dive. She jumped off the side with no arms and went head first, unfortunately it was the shallow end :-(. I was so freaked out...this could have turned out so much worse and so grateful someone was watching over us! These pictures were taken a few days later as she wanted nothing to do with me trying to snap a picture of this embarrassing moment.

Beiber Fever

Paige turned double digits this year and after a long debate of what to do for her birthday she decided on Beiber Fever! She took a few friends and of course her sister to see "Never say Never"..... and I have to admit it was pretty stinking fun and what a great story! Top on her list this year was a pillow pet, she got the dolphin and she couldn't be happier. We love you paiger...10 going on 20! Paige has a huge personality, she always knows exactly what she wants and rarely settles for anything less!

Broken Arm

Well this afternoon as Paige rode her bike to Mrs. Anderson's house for math tutoring she wrecked on her bike hurting her arm. I got a call from Mrs. Anderson telling me what happened. Ryan went and picked her up but she didn't really want to go to the doctor and said it was fun, she was just embarrassed. Totally understandable right.....a couple days later I notice her not using her arm and decide to take her to the doctor. Fractured both bones in her forearm....mother of the year award right here. What the heck my kids has had a broken arm for 2+ days and I am just now taking her to the doctor. What kind of parent am I, oh well hopefully she will forgive me some day. She got a removable cast so she could shower....it looks just like a brace and was gracious enough to pose for a picture for me to blog about. She was super scared at the doctors office of the unknown asking all kinds of questions like is she going to touch my arm, how can they tell if it's broken, what does a cast look like...and here we are all done with a removal cast and all her sweet little questions answered.

Paige's 9th Birthday

Who doesn't love movie theater popcorn...Yummy!

Who are all these sassy girls...so cute!

Wow are we getting old or what....my cute little Pager is turning 9! She decided to take a few friends to see "Tooth Fairy" and go to Dairy Queen. It was super fun with one minor glitch....we showed up about 20 minutes early and the movie was sold out, stuff like that always happens to her...so I got on my trusty iPhone and found another theater although we got there quite a bit early it gave us a chance to get all the snacks we could ever want. She got a few webkins, CDs, necklace and had a cookie dough blizzard. It was a great time. On her actual birthday we got Krispy Kreme for her birthday school snack and ate Somburros for dinner...that a girl who knows where to go on her birthday...yummy my favorite place too!

Happy Birthday Pager...we love you!

No more appliance

Today was the big day....Paige got her appliance out. She sucked her thumb for her entire life until this point. It was her signature, the only child in this family who sucked her thumb. She is very unique with her own signature for everything why would this be any different. We tired numerous things before we finally took her to get the appliance. It was metal brackets bolted to her back teeth with four prongs that hung down behind her front big teeth. Every time she would try to put her thumb in her mouth it would poke and remind her not to do it. She had it in for 5 months or so and it broke, so we took it out while they fixed it and she immediately started sucking her thumb. So it has been about 8-9 months total for the appliance and today was the big day...she was asking to get it out and I think she will be fine. She has matured and grown so much this past year. I think she can handle it. Her bite has total straightened out and although it was a little uncomfortable getting it out....she is so happy now. Congrats Paiger....we are so happy you are no longer a thumb sucker even though you were so cute as a thumb sucker! As a baby she used to suck her thumb and twirl her hair...it seemed like yesterday :-)

Need a make over?

I have to say I love this girl, she has more style at 8 than I think I will every have, again Ryan's daughter... She is so stylish, it is so fun! This afternoon after school I heard a radio blaring somewhere so as I followed the sound I found this....My so cute 8-year-old with her ipod speakers, ipod, crimper (yes, it is coming back in style so she says), makeup and curling iron rocking out in her bathroom giving herself a mini makeover. I can remember as a teenager listening to the radio as I got ready but at 8 it was adorable and she did a great job on her hair. Maybe one day you will be my stylist Paiger!

Softball 2009

Paige playing catcher
Why do kids make weirdo faces whenever you try to take their picture?
First hit smile....its about time, she was almost in tears last game because she keeps striking out...way to go sister you are awsome~!
The ready position

Paige signed up for softball again this year....I think this is her third year and she is coach pitch this year. She had a good time but is always worried about how good she can hit the ball. Her team was purple this year and they names themselves the Panthers. My favorite part of the entire season is all of the cheering...Riley's baseball team never does that :-). Girls just have more fun.

Paige's baptism

This was such an amazing day for our Paiger! She has been looking forward to this for weeks. Ryan baptised Paige on Valentine's day. She got her own set of scriptures with her name on the front and was very proud. She looked so pretty in her white dress. This was such a special day, we love you Paige and are so proud of you!

Poor Paige

Ryan took Hayley to the mall on Saturday to spend some of her Christmas money and to have a little one on one time. After they left Paige freaked out. She was so mad at me (not really sure why) she was yelling and screaming and then I thought she had finally calmed down until I found this....posted in my entry way as you walk in the front door. Nice, real nice. I found her under her bed with 3 baskets in front of her so it looked like no one was under her bed. I am glad she is able to express her feelings we just need to find a more constructive way to do. I put things like this in my scrapbook because life is not always this amazing adventure...from day to day we all have bad days and I wish I had something to relate to when I have these days from my parents experiences raising children. Anyway....we love you pieces Pager and you will get to have one on one time wiht daddy too!

NO MORE NAIL POLISH!

This child of mine .....oh my gosh! Paige came into my office while I was working and asked if she could paint her nails...obviously I said no because I was working but maybe later I told her. I have a box of nail polish on the second shelf in the cabinets above my washer in the laundry room. In order to get these down you would have to get a chair, get on top of the washer and reach up to the second shelf, which apparently she did. I heard some noise in the laundry room so I got up from my desk and as I rounded the corner to the laundry room she was coming out with the hot pink nail polish. I apparently scared her and she dropped it. The bottle scattered and went everywhere...walls, baseboards, grout, tile, etc. As I went to get the nail polish remover she got a paper towel and tried to clean it up and it just smeared and stuck to every crack and crevice. It took a entire bottle of nail polish remover to get it off the floor and I could not get it off the wall.

My Thumb Sucker...

Well its official...no more thumb sucking for my Pager. I am a little sad. It has been almost a week since she got the appliance put in her mouth. Aunt Stephanie took her to her office and I think that eased her anxiety a little about have that thing bolted to her mouth. She has struggled a little this week with falling asleep....and honestly it is so sad. I feel bad, for 7 almost 8 years that is all she has known, that is her comfort, its just her! She has been acting out a bit and waking up in the night as well. I am so proud of her for how brave she has been through this entire process! You are so strong Paige, and I promise it will be worth it. She cant eat anything sticky, gum, gummies, etc. and bread seems to get stuck up there too. This was the last time she ever sucked her thumb :-(, the night before the big day.

Musical Theater!

Makenzie, Kaelie and Paige after the show!

Paige did summer workshop with Mrs. Jeenie again this summer. She absolutely loved it! I am amazed how much they are able to learn in just two short weeks. They went from 11:30-3 every day. She gave them each their own CD to practice 20 songs...the theme this summer was Disney. They had a different theme each day of the two weeks relating to Disney like PJ day, Disney shirt day, rock star day, etc. She was playing the songs in the car, in her room and any where else she could get some practice in for the last two weeks. The show was amazing! She had a speaking part and a singing part...and it was hysterical to hear my little Paiger get up and sing by herself in a microphone on a stage. Her singing part was from a Hannah Montana song called Best of Both Worlds, and she did it perfectly!..."Who was thought a girl like me would double as a superstar". I absolutely loved it, I was cheering and laughing. After the show in the car I was telling her how great she did and proud of her I was and her comment to me was "I could hear you yelling my name, I was so embarrassed mom". What are moms for if not for little embarrassment now and again :-).

All the girls in there PJ's

Backstage playing games to keep busy until show time.

This was the amazing solo...You are awsome Paiger!

1st Grade

Mother's Day tea (Hayley, our cousin Brynlie, Paige and me)
Mother's Day song, so sweet!

Paige and Brenna...two peas in a pod.

Brenna, Mckenna and Paige in the musical.

Halloween..she was an alley cat.

Zoo field trip

Christmas around the world show.

All day sure was fun! Paige went from half day kindergarten to all day first grade. She had Mrs. Griego for her teacher (Riley had her last year) and absolutely loved her. She puts her heart into teaching and it shows on the kids. Paige had some great memories this years including her first performance in the 1st grade musical "Its a Jungle Out There", field trip to the zoo, Halloween parade around the school and her Christmas Around the World show. As you can tell by the pictures her good friend Brenna was her trusty side kick. Paige also started AR reading this year. This is where you have a goal, you read a certain number of books and then take comprehension tests to meet your goals. She met her goal for the year! Way to go Paige.

1st Grade Tid-Bits:

Good Friend: Brenna Barney.

Playground: Really into tether ball at the beginning of the year and now 2 square.

Favorite breakfast: Anything...Paige will pretty much eat anything although her choice is Jimmy Dean sausage breakfast sandwiches.

Favorite 1st grade memory: Mothers Day tea...She gave me a hand massage, served me juice and muffins and we got to make a bracelet together!

*Side note: I usually put love notes in the kids lunch if they bring there lunch...Paige is a bit embarrassed about this :-).
