Sunday Service!

Riley is preparing to move from wolfs to bears in scouts and one of his achievements was to complete part of his faith in god booklet for church...one of the goals in this book was to do a service project for someone else. So last Sunday we decided to pick up trash for our neighborhood. We all got bags and rode up and down the main street in our neighborhood. All 4 of us picked up big bags of trash. Although sometimes it feels as if these little activities aren't making a difference in my children's life, I have hope that one day they will prove me wrong with an act of service all on their own!

Student of the week!

Hayley was student of the week this week. Being that she is the thrid child I felt a little bad because I was not as excited about student of the week as she was. Each day last week she had something fun going on.
Monday: Bring in poster of favorite things, family, etc. All about hayhay!
Tuesday: Her class members wrote her a note and drew her a picture which the teacher put into a book for her. (She came home hysterically crying saying they didnt make her a book. I had no idea this was such a big deal to her. She was crying call Mrs. Eversole right now. So I did and she felt horrible and wanted to talk to Hayley but Hayley wouldn't get on the phone) The had not had time to do it that day so she got the book on Wednesday.
Wednesday: Bring your pet for show and tell...I brought Shelby up for the last 5-10 minutes of class.
Thursday: Surprise bag! We had to put something into a brown paper bag with 3 clues to see if the class could guess what was in the bag. It was a webkin.
Friday: Guessing jar. She got to pick anything she wanted to put into this jar the teacher sent home. She picked gummy bears and we had to count them before we sent them in and each child got to guess and then they split them up to eat...there was 525 gummy bears. There was 526 but to make it a good number Ryan ate the extra one. What a good dad :-).

Anyway...HayHay is so sweet, she was so excited about being student of the week and we are so proud of our kindergardener. I forgot to take pictures but her week was special with or without a picture.

Real food!

Okay - I think I have completely forgot what it is like to have a baby at this stage...I kind of feel like it is my first time all over again...wow scary! Sadie is dieing to have real people food, not just baby food. I took the girls to a birthday party today and she was going crazy trying to grab there food and trying to get out of the stroller...so I let her have a piece of crust and she mowed it down, it was totally soggy...sick. A few minutes pass and I take it away and give her a new piece and then it happened...the heart stopping choking AHHH! I immediately took it away and she freaked out...wow, how old am I? I have totally done this before but it still scares the heck out of me. Anyway, she still has no teeth at 8 months old but thinks she can eat a real meal, crazy girl. She is also starting to stand and so stinking cute! I had some time on my hands while the girls played at the party so I spent some time taking pictures of Sader B...I love this stage, she is so smiley and makes the funnest faces.

Biggest fan!

Well another season of baseball has started and we love it. Last season Sadie was only a couple months old and didnt really put up a fight to go to a few games a week. Now at 8 months old...she is not to interested in hanging out in the stroller for 3 hours. Riley had a night game tonight and did awswome. He caught for three innings, walked twice and grounded out to short stop. Sadie did great...she hung out for a while and then was ready for some action. I think she will be Riley's biggest fan this year!

Brothers!

I love how close Ryan is with his brothers! I hope our kids are this close as they get older and are friends not just because they are family but because they truly enjoy each other. Tonight Ryan's two brothers were over late into the night working on the stereo in the boat. They must have sat out there for 3 hours...taking turns working on whatever it was they were working on...teasing each other the entire time, laughing and talking about life. This is what makes me want to have more kids...these friendships are forever!

Boys will be boys!

Ryan and Riley are constantly messing around....growing up as an only child for 12 years of my life, I am not used to so much teasing and pranks but Riley and Ryan are always at it. They snap each other with towels, throw balls at each other while running through the house, try to trip each other with pillows, etc. Its as if I live with two 8 years old not just one. Anyway Riley officially got one up on Ryan tonight....Ryan went in to kiss him good night and tuck him in (yes even though he is 8 we still tuck him in and give him a good night kiss...oh how sweet, I know:-)) and as Ryan leans down Riley rips back the covers and squirts Ryan in the face with a cold water bottle....it was hysterical. This then turned into an all out water fight right at bedtime. The girls heard the commotion and came down the hallway and Riley got both of them as they walked down the hall with the remaining water in the bottle. This kids is very creative...it looked like a regular old Kirkland water bottle with the lid on it but he had poked a hole in the top so he just squeezed it and out came the water. We love you Riley Bug...you are a funny guy!

Benihana

Where is Sadie looking?

Nice funny faces....goof balls!

For Ryan's birthday we took the kids to Benihana at Chandler Mall. Its a fun family place and we got to sit at a table by ourselves. They made mickey mouse face with the fried rice and a volcano with the onions. The cook tossed an egg in the air a bunch of times and that kids were amazed it didn't break...maybe I should try that at home :-). Happy Birthday Ryan!

Happy 31st Birthday Ryan!

Today his my mans birthday! He is 31-years-old today and looking hotter than the day I married him. We have been married for 10 years next month and been together for close to 15 years and he is still me very best friend. I was going to make a list of 31 reasons why I love this guy but I don't want anyone to be jealous! :-)I am so grateful for all he does for us and more now than ever I am grateful for his ability to pick up my slack. He does it with such ease and still makes me feel like a million bucks! You are truly my inspiration and I love you with all my heart! Happy birthday!

Sadie update

Okay - So we have hit some huge mile stones in the last few weeks.

1. Sleeping through the night! Party time, whoo! We are finally sleeping through the night and it only took two misrable nights...3 hours of letting her cry one night and the 45 minutes the next and it was over. A lot easier said then done forsure. It was misrable but worth it. Ryan told her in the morning that he wanted to come get her and I wouldn't let him...whatever!

2. Eating jar food three times a day.

3. She is rocking on her knees and scooting a little.

Wow, where does the time go she is 7 months now and cute as can be. She will only go to sleep with something over her face, which freaks everyone out but seems to be her comfort.
