Highland Hawks Cheer Camp

The Highland Hawks Varsity Cheer Squad did a cheer camp for the local girls. The girls learned a cheer, tons of cheer moves, jumps and a little dance. They got to show off all their skills at the varsity football game Thursday night. It was so cute, they did a great job. They did 2-3 different cheers and then even got to do a paramid. The funniest part was that all week they were practicing at home and Sadie totally learned one of the cheers, which was super cute.

Girls Trip

So its been a minute since I left my family for any amount of time 4 years to be exact and Shari and Kelly (Shari's sis-in-law) invited me to California for a few days. It was so fun to not have to worry about anything....literally, I packed some clothes and we headed to the beach for 4 days. We drove up to Santa Barbara for a day and rented bikes and walked around in all the shops, we relaxed on the beach and most importantly we slept! It was super fun but the best part I have to say was calling home each night and hearing Ryan's stores....every night I was so happy I came and that he got just a little taste of what it was like to be me. The first night his tone was super annoyed and when I asked him what was wrong his reply was this "I just sat down for the first time and its 9!" Hee hee, oh poor baby! It was pretty funny hearing his stores about getting to games on time and carpool practices, etc. I so apprecaited everything he did but was kind of happy he struggled a bit, made me feel like its not as easy as he thought was going to be...I came home to 5 days with of laundry and a messy house but it was so worth it!

Broken Arm

Well this afternoon as Paige rode her bike to Mrs. Anderson's house for math tutoring she wrecked on her bike hurting her arm. I got a call from Mrs. Anderson telling me what happened. Ryan went and picked her up but she didn't really want to go to the doctor and said it was fun, she was just embarrassed. Totally understandable right.....a couple days later I notice her not using her arm and decide to take her to the doctor. Fractured both bones in her forearm....mother of the year award right here. What the heck my kids has had a broken arm for 2+ days and I am just now taking her to the doctor. What kind of parent am I, oh well hopefully she will forgive me some day. She got a removable cast so she could shower....it looks just like a brace and was gracious enough to pose for a picture for me to blog about. She was super scared at the doctors office of the unknown asking all kinds of questions like is she going to touch my arm, how can they tell if it's broken, what does a cast look like...and here we are all done with a removal cast and all her sweet little questions answered.

Preschool

So my super good friend Shari Goodman...who happens to be an amazing mom is doing a 1 day a week preschool/early school class for 2.5 year old. She will be working on songs, circle time, centers, manners, cleaning up and sharing. Its $35 a month for one day a week for 2 hours. I was so excited for her to go today and she left my arms like no body's business, "see ya mom" she said as she ran away to Mrs. Sharri's door. When I picked her up I asked her what she did at Mrs. Sharri's today and she repeated every phrase Sherri said....it was freckin hysterical. "Be nice. Sit on your carpet. Clean up. Come out of the bathroom. Sit in your chair." It was laughing out loud in the car, she basically repeated everything Shari was telling all the kids to do and she loved every minute of, the next morning she woke up asking if she could go to Mrs. Shari's today.

Play Group

Play Group:
So a couple ladies in my ward/neighborhood put together this amazing play group with 6 little girls all ages 2.5-3 years old. You drop your daughter off at the designated house from 9-11:30 (2.5 hours awesome right) and then you hold playgroup once every 6 weeks....and even better its FREE! I can't think of anything better Sadie gets to play with some super great friends, gets away from me for 2.5 hours and I can run errands guilt free and it doesn't cost me a dime. What a great idea. So we held the first play group....and this was our schedule

9-9:30 backyard time
9:30-10 play-doh
10-10:15 clean up
10:15-10:45 snack time
10:45-11 Handy Manny on Disney Channel
11-11:30 backyard/trampoline time
It was so fun and super easy as with that many girls they totally entertained themselves. I think she may have even found a new BFF. It is hysterical to listen to the conversations that 2.5 year olds have, I love it. I am so glad that we are doing this play group!

1st Day of School for the big kids 2010

I love the first day of school...back to a routine, a clean house for at least a few hours a day, get to go out to lunch! As for the kids well at least 2 out of 3 were happy this morning! pEverybody's backpacks were loaded down with all the school supplies for the year and hapy to waer their new clothes! Paige had a royal melt down about her outfit which then caused the rest of her morning to go down hill and was even more excited when I said you can't leave until I take your picture....after the picture she was gone not to be seen again until 3:00, hopefull she got happier once she got to school. Sadie even snuck into a picture. Riley wanted to part of us walking him to school so he bolted on his bike as quickly as he could but our sweet little Hayley girl let us walk with her to school and even take pictures with her bike.
Riley - 5th grade 10 years old (for a couple months at least)
Paige - 4th grade 9 years old
Hayley - 2nd grade 7 years old
Wow typing that out I feel super old for some reason!

Sadie 1st hair cut

This is always such a sad day, when you have to get your baby their first hair cut. I am not really sure why this is so sad as she seriously had a mullet and it was almost embarrassing it was so crazy looking but once you get them that first haircut they don't look like babies anymore. So sad day for me, for sure but she looks super cute. Thanks Sara! My little baby is growing up. She did so good, she said still and let Sara cut her mullet off with no tears or wiggles...good job Sadie girl!
