What in the HECK....

Okay for those of you who have seen me recently....no my husband has not started beating me, I think I just have to many darn kids. Last Sunday while minding my own business taking an afternoon nap after church I got hit with a shoe in the eye. This was not just any old flip flop, it was a wedge church shoe. So the girls (the big girls) were apparently fighting, they chased each other down into my room where one grabbed a shoe to chuck at the other who then ducked and I got a hit full force to my eye with a wedge church heel while dead asleep. Yes all of my children are still alive I did not kill anyone after this event, I was in to much pain....the girls ran to get Ryan and I laid in the fetal position on my bed. When he came to check on me my face was swollen up and the girls felt horrible. Over the course of the next few days as the swelling subsided (barely) my eye started to turn a hideous color of black and blue and then I had a yellow/greenish jaundice look down the side of my face as the bruising healed up. This pictures I took myself of my eye on about day 3 but as of day 16 I still have a minor black eye. I cannot stress how freakin painful a hit to the cheek bone is....WOW who knew! Anyway hopefully now there will be no more shoe throwing at the Bond house.

Girls Trip

So its been a minute since I left my family for any amount of time 4 years to be exact and Shari and Kelly (Shari's sis-in-law) invited me to California for a few days. It was so fun to not have to worry about anything....literally, I packed some clothes and we headed to the beach for 4 days. We drove up to Santa Barbara for a day and rented bikes and walked around in all the shops, we relaxed on the beach and most importantly we slept! It was super fun but the best part I have to say was calling home each night and hearing Ryan's stores....every night I was so happy I came and that he got just a little taste of what it was like to be me. The first night his tone was super annoyed and when I asked him what was wrong his reply was this "I just sat down for the first time and its 9!" Hee hee, oh poor baby! It was pretty funny hearing his stores about getting to games on time and carpool practices, etc. I so apprecaited everything he did but was kind of happy he struggled a bit, made me feel like its not as easy as he thought was going to be...I came home to 5 days with of laundry and a messy house but it was so worth it!

Molly and Deanna's Birthday dinner

Ye haw....you go girls!

Ocean Blue...yummy

Tonight I headed out to meet 20 of my closes friends for dinner for a couple of the girls birthdays. It is so fun to get away for a couple hours and hang with just the girls. Molly and Deanna are both turning 30. We went to Texas Road House for dinner where both girls got in the saddle and then to Ocean Blue for dessert. I love this group of girls...they are all so fun!

Solo canning experience!

Over the past few years I have canned many things all with the help of my great friend Hope and although I do own my own canner I always go to her house...sorry Hope! I set a gosl of trying to do one get organized/food storage thing per week trying to stay in the $20-30 price range, really this is going out to eat I can sacrifice that right? Hopefully this goal will get my food stoarge built up and my crazy house somewhat organized. Anyway I decided to can hamburger meat and taco meat last week. It was awesome, although I had to call hope about 20 times throughout the process and at one point she even said, "do you want me to just come over" I made it through all on my own and hopefully this weeks experience will go much better. It was actually not that hard to do and we did eat some of the meet on Sunday and it was good....so I am considering this lone voyage a success!
