One last fun summer day!

One last fun summer activity...bowling! Yea baby. I took, Riley, Paige, Hayley and of course baby Sadie with Tanner and Talin by other 2 boys bowling for one last fun activity before school started. The kids had so much fun and I have to admit I am pretty darn amazing at Pop-A-Shot...if there was ever a league for arcade basketball I think I would join. :-) Paige even managed to beat all of us with a broken arm in a cast....way to go Paiger

Swimming after Rainbow Bridge

We took our annual trip to Lake Powell this week. As usual it was amazing. The Wright's are an amazing family and we love spending the week. I am pretty sure there is nothing better Sacramento meeting on the house boat. The spirit is so strong there and it reminds me why I joined the church. All the talks always seem to be exactly what you need at that time! We got there Saturday morning loaded the house boat and headed out...with only a few glitches...(Johnny boat wouldn't start on the launch wrap and then we got a ticket hauling stuff to the house boat). It took almost an entire day to find a spot but we finally found one and set up camp...12 adults inside and all the kids up top it was craziness but so fun. Sunday we had Sacrament meeting and then took our annual trip to Rainbow Bridge and Dangling Rope for ice cream...we hiked up to the bridge (actually Hayley quit about half way so I went back with her) and Ryan took the rest of the kids up. It was so stinking hot...we all pulled out on the boats and swam to get cooled off for a while. We then hit dangling rope for ice, gas and a yummy root beer float (I got a Pepsi from the fountain with ice...it was so good). We wakeboarded, tubed and swam the rest of the day. On Monday we went to Sand Hill where Paige lost 1 flip flop on the way up....how exactly does that happen...just one flip flop? Anyway they all had a great time and did a little jumping off the rocks too. Johnny took a bunch of kids on a long boat ride to the Marine on Tuesday but other than that we just chilled, ate delious food and treats all week long. I think I gained 10 pounds but it was worth it! One of the funniest moments this week was from Paige...as adults it is customary that when every we pull in somewhere on boats we turn up the music super loud and everybody gets up on the sides of the boat and dances....it is hysterical. So as we pulled into Dangling Rope we tried to get our kids to do the same and Paige freaked out...she was so embarrassed of all of us we were dying laughing. Why knew at 9 years old we would already be embarrassing our kids :-) We had a couple good storms that brought the kids down from sleeping on top for a few hours but its to be expected at Lake Powell, all part of the adventure right? We took all of our kids except baby Sadie, sorry Sadie a few more years!

Kit flying

This is pretty much what Paige did every day.

The first trip of a new yearly tradition to Mission Beach, San Diego! We had so much fun we are going to do this every year.

We started off our trip with our car breaking down and the dealership could not fix it before we left so we rolled over to SD in the work truck with a trailer full of crap...bikes, food, port-a-crib, bike trailer, beach chairs, sand toys and pretty much anything else you could think of we looked hilarious. The others Bond's (Dusty & Dana & Tatum) came with us.

Saturday night we ate Luigi's famous pizza and yum yum yummy! We went to the beach almost every day. Paige was hysterical every day she would hall an umbrella, chair, a couple of towels, bag with snacks and drinks and then chilled like a beach princess. On Tuesday Riley flew home so we all kind of split up. Paige and I got pedicures, then went shopping with Sadie, Hayley went to Seaworld with the other Bond's and Ryan took Riley to the airport. I think Hayley had more fun than anyone at Seaworld. Ryan and I went to all you can eat crab one night (gross) and I think Ryan ate 6 or 7 claws...the record was 10. We went down to the gas lamp district one night and ate and walked around. Dusty and Hayley got kites and with the beautiful ocean breeze they were able to use them almost every day. Ryan and I became Paddle Ball experts...I think our record was 41 hits, YEAH BABY! We rode bikes to the Bellmont Park almost every day for ice cream and treats. Thursday was wrist band day so the girls rode rides and we played arcade games. I even managed to whip up a few guys in the arcade in some basketball...I took a pictures of my score for proof. Ryan and Dusty rode the Wave Rider which was pretty cool. We rode bikes to the cinnamon roll shop one morning...pretty stinking yummy!

The weather was absolutely amazing and this was probably one of the best trips we have taken, can't wait to do it again next year.

LL Baseball

Still a little sad about the loss

The Durham Bulls

Coach Bond

Riley has been playing LL baseball for the Durham Bulls and a club team called the Predators. He has improved so much this year. He has been paying catcher for his LL team and catcher and right field for the club team. He absolutely loves baseball and it is so fun and exciting to watch. His LL team went into the losers bracket in the tournament and then won 4 games in a row to get to the championship game where he played his best friends team. The game was so intense and exciting. They ended up losing by 1 run...It was so fun! I sure hope he always loves baseball as much as he has this year.

He tried out for All-Stars and made the team...I don't think I have ever seen him as excited as when the coach called to tell him he had made the team. Part of the all stars season was going to be when we were on our family vacation San Diego so Riley got to fly home half way through to practice and play. Not sure what he was more excited about flying home or playing on the all start team.

Of note...as everyone knows I am the worst picture taker every, I have no pictures of him playing all-stars or pictures of him playing on his club team. Sorry Riley!
